Although it does sound like a video game song it's really repetitive with not much to make up for it. That's the major downfall of the song. The composition just doesn't feel right either. I recommend trying out a song structure and try to add some contrast between parts of the song. Parts like 0:26 to 0:28 are also kind of random as well and don't seem like they fit.

Overall I think there should be more added to the song and you should overall try to make it more dynamic.

NotCreativeUsername responds:

I kinda just made the song for fun, posted it to NG and didn't really think about it, Thanks for the constructive criticism though!

It's a very nice song that gives off a terraria vibe. It's nice and dynamic. The composition is pretty good as well and the song just feels like an adventure. I think you made a really good video game song although it is a bit short. I wish it was longer.

Overall really good! Keep up the good work!

ExpiredPork responds:

Thank you. I also think it's kind of short, I might make an extended version in the future. ;)

The biggest issue it that everything after 0:59 feels like filler to the song. A lot of the song feels like a build up to something that never. The composition is ok but it's not that dynamic and I think you could have executed that atmosphere of the song a bit better.

Overall it needs more to it.

ThresherMation responds:

I honestly have no idea how that happened

This is a really neat song that passes off a really good vibe. I think it executes a very chill mood very well. I do think you could have eased into the song a bit better.

Overall it's really good so good job! Keep up the good work.

gadg3tmusic responds:

Thanks for the kind words!!

This gives off a really nice vibe but I feel like a lot more could have came out of it. It suffers from a lack of dynamism with not much to make up for it. I also think it could've been a bit longer as well.

Overall I think you should add a lot more too it because the song only feel like 2 different parts.

TheMe0wdie responds:

Thanks for the comment, I'm not really that good at making music but I'll take this for the next time.

The song ends rather abruptly so I think you need a more defined ending. 1:57 that bass is drowning out that playful sounds in the song and it seems the song is trying to pass off a playful vibe so I think you should lower that bass. Same goes for 0:49. I also think the song could have added a bit more sounds to it as well.

Overall I think this could use some work but it's not that bad so good job! Kind of feels like a game song.

D4T4M4N responds:

Thank you! I will have to adjust the bass, i just really wanted it to stand out because of how odd and crunchy it is. I reuploaded the audio because the abrupt ending was a rendering error. I love when i stumble across weird synth noises that fit well with what im trying to make. What kind of sounds do you think would be nice? I might try to add some chords now.

2:40 has this build up before and it said drop the beat but it didn't really contrast any other parts of the song. I kind of expected that part to be a bit more different. I think you should have made the whisper a bit lower to help set the mood of the song a bit better. The main thing that changes in the song are the voices so I think the song could have benefited from being a bit more dynamic. Now it has a nice beat to it and it gives a chill kind of operation vibe to it so that's nice. Like a stake out scene in a movie.

Overall the only thing I have to say is that I think it needs to be a bit more dynamic. Besides that I don't think it's bad and I think it's really chill and vibey.

DigitalProdigy responds:

I agree 100% about the drop, and the build up. That's a mixing issue I am still working on. I am still learning how to make drops bigger, from increasing the volume of the drop tracks to make it seem bigger after the buildup, to changing the dynamics.
Thank you so much for the review.
This is how we as musicians get better with feedback for our songs.

This is more synthwave. The ending got really repetitive. It gives off a nice feeling though. Perhaps it could've been just a tad bit more dynamic. Other than that I really like. Good job!

Saucerpan responds:

thanks for the feedback yo

This gives off such nice vibes but I hate to say this but it didn't finish fading out. It got close but then it just cut out. It's minor but it's at the end so that's the last thing I hear in the song. I was going to take off like half a star for it but it's very minor so I changed my score. Other than that it's really good! Good job!

SwipeScore responds:

Thanks so much!! I'll work on making fade-outs sound more natural.

Well I think I need to get a big issue out the way first and that's how it ends. It ends way too abruptly. Now on to some issues that aren't so bad. I feel like there's something missing from the song. Composition wise it sounds ok. Maybe the composition could be just a bit better. It feels more like a video game rather than chipstep.

Overall it's not bad but the ending really takes away points for me.

Eranity responds:

Thanks for the review, I honestly didn't mean to have all those dead seconds at the end of the audio.

Also, I wasn't sure what to tag it so I chose "Chipstep" because I thought it was for Chiptune Songs lol
