The song falls short composition wise imo. The drop has no sort of progression to it. I recommend a chord progression to go to it or maybe have it change more often. At 0:52 the note changes but to not much of an effect. The mixdown is a bit questionable. It sounds a bit cluttered. Maybe some stage gaining and panning would help. The snare choice doesn't seem fitting. I think Sharks is a good example for inspiration because this sounds like his style. I feel like the main issue was the approach to it tbh. I think the beginning piano could be a bit softer and quieter and then gradually get louder to add to the build up. It also gets a bit repetitive despite the short time it's played. Sound design sounds pretty nice though.

Thankss for feedback

This has some frostpunk vibes to it. I would've like to see a bit more atmosphere in the beginning. The composition is ok but I wish it would switch up the pace or have more variety in notes like maybe some more quarter notes or eighths.

BlizzrdMusic responds:

Thank you for the feedback! I can understand all of those points. It was my first 3 minute Ambient track, but I can see and completely understand a lot of the points.

Pretty groovy track. Well done 👌

I really enjoyed the composition of this piece and the counterpoint is quite nice! The track sounds like it has character to it!

HollandAlbright responds:

Thanks so much! I appreciate that a lot!

Very well mastered song. I wish the vocals were just a tad bit louder.

I really like the composition of this. The chord progression at 1:28 gets really repetitive since it last for the rest of the song. I would recommend making a countermelody. I would also recommend maybe switching up your second chord sometimes or voicing your chord progression differently.

Your track sounds kind of lowpassy and a bit muddy. It sounds like some of your instruments could be thinned out a bit more with an EQ. The G# at 0:51 sounds very out of place. The main thing is the track just needs more clarity to it. The composition isn't bad though.

MarquinRobes responds:

I really need to use accidentals properly. Thanks for the feedback though

Hm didn't know you were into making music like that.

Holy damn this is beautiful! Very well done! Sounds like it could use some mastering but it could just be I listened to a louder track before this. Other than that the composition is amazing! I'll definitely be sending for a frontpage!

Edit: Nevermind it already got frontpaged

Deemo-R responds:

I actually neglected to mention but it was mixed and mastered by Dennis Sands - I don't really have access to the same hardware or impeccable ears so my mix would sound quite worse, haha. They really played with a lot of dynamic contrast so we let the finished product have a bit of range and be overall a bit lower than most commercial stuff. Thanks so much for the feedback, and I appreciate the support!

Sounds pretty nice but your instruments sound very dry and I recommend a better choir sample even if it is a video game song because they sound very low quality. The song's composition is very nice but falls a bit flat on the mix. It sounds like you need more space for your lead instruments. The repeat brings it down tbh.

SupaBubba responds:

I really appreciate the feedback, there is some really helpful stuff in here. Thanks for lending your ear :)
