One of my favorite works from you! Amazing job!

So right off the bat I would recommend some more instrument leveling and perhaps panning maybe less or more. Balancing/leveling seems to be like it would be more helpful here. You could have more breathing room for your instruments. For this type of vibe I would say your should really go for a clean clear sound. The pad thing that you have panned mostly to the left or maybe on a bit of a pan spinner at 0:16 sounds too loud. Some things sound like they need a cut in certain frequencies to make way for other instruments so maybe consider an EQ on some things. I like the vibe of this though. The arrangement is pretty nice!

Pretty sick bro!

Warkauze responds:

thank yoy :)

This is very nice and I think it matches the picture well!

It's all good man. Honestly I need to update my feedback anyway since I have a better understanding of some things now. So the growl or what I'm assuming is a distorted electric guitar is overpowering everything in the mix. Just turn it down and I think some things should be fine. I recommend making some more room for the pad in the beginning by cutting some low end on your other instruments. The kick and snare could cut through better and I think your snare sample is kind of weak for this song so I recommend choosing a different one. The transition at 3:47 sounded quite abrupt. I like the idea but I think compositionally it could be a bit less repetitive and flow better. Also the feedback I gave before wasn't that good anyway tbh.

JustMusicThings responds:

Hey, I know it might be a little late for this and you might not even see this, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry. The way I chose to reply to you was rude and it's been heavy on my mind since. I mean, you took your time to give me feedback, not because I asked you to or because you felt you had to.. but because you wanted to. That means a lot to me now even though I didn't see it back then. Though it's probably too late for this, I wanted to say thank you and that I'm sorry.

I think the beginning piano should be a bit softer. That's the main thing taking away from the vibe of the song. The song feels more like space rather than the photo imo but it's still quite nice. The levels do sound a bit unbalanced though.

Lucasberry responds:

Yeah, probably sounds too space-themed, but thanks for your feedback.

I can't really tell what the lead instrument is supposed to be but I'm guessing it's the sax. Before I get into that, I would say make the piano a bit softer perhaps. There seems to be like this burst of like white noise or like a snare maybe at like 0:18. It's kind of distracting in my opinion. It sort of takes away from the chill vibe. I think it would be better if it was maybe tucked under the mix perhaps. The piano is really overtaking the sax by a lot. I also think the arrangement could have been expanded upon a bit more. Despite what I said, it's not bad.

I think there should be a lot more separation in the mix. The pads sound kind of close to the I think electric piano? It sounds like they're combating a bit. I don't really know what it is but the instrument starts off with a Cmaj7 with a C D and E being played an octave higher at the end if I'm correct. Also for the synth that comes in later, I think it should be a bit lower but that's hard to tell since the mix is a bit iffy at the moment. The song kind of lacks the feeling of clarity due to the mix being kind of cluttered and muddy. I would work on balancing the levels some more and maybe sorting things in the mix. I really enjoy the arrangement though.

SynnCloud responds:

thanks for the comment!, some of the effects are because its supposed to be an Underwater song, something that might be playing outside but you can still hear it underwater hehe

It sounds a bit rough and dry to me and I just honestly wish the instruments sounded a bit more distant. I still really like the atmosphere created! This is really nice!

Midnights-Ocean responds:

I thought the arp lead was a little too loud in a few places myself.

It's always hard for me to decide if I want the environmental sounds to be dominant or the musical elements. I originally had the waves and reverbs mixed much higher but in the past people had complained that I always mix those sort of things too loud lol.

Thanks for the feedback! : )
